Just in time for the Oscars®, the WPA Film Library announces newly
acquired, exclusive celebrity footage!
Shot primarily on 16mm film for documentaries about Martin Scorsese,
Oliver Stone and Jessica Lange, the new collection includes
behind-the-scenes material and conversations with numerous Hollywood
players. Many interviewees reflect on their own careers, in addition to
talking about these three individuals.
Some highlights:
· Production work on the films “JFK,” “Goodfellas”
and “Cape Fear.”
· Actors including Kevin Bacon, John Candy, Kevin Costner, Robert
DeNiro, Charles Grodin, Barbara Hershey, Tommy Lee Jones, Harvey Keitel,
Gary Oldman, Joe Pesci, Charlie Sheen, Sam Shepard.
· Directors George Lucas, Michael Moore, Sydney Pollack, and
Steven Spielberg.
· Other film industry players: Writer/director Paul Schrader,
editor Thelma Schoonmaker, movie critic/screenwriter Jay Cocks,
screenwriter Mardik Martin, cinematographers Michael Ballhaus and Barry
Sonnenfeld, producers Roger Corman and Irwin Winkler.
· Interviews with former mobster Henry Hill, whose life is portrayed in “Goodfellas;”
Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic, who inspired “Born on the Fourth of July;”
and family and personal acquaintances of Scorsese and Stone.
· Lange, Scorsese and Stone themselves, on the set
and in interviews.

Archival Hollywood Gems
WPA also has acquired more footage of Classic Hollywood. Shot on
film, this is a wonderful mix of interviews, events, and slices of life
from some enduring names in show business.
· Entertainers like Judy Garland, Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis Jr., the Dave
Clark Five, Dinah Shore, Bob Hope.
· Actors including Harry Belafonte, Ethel Merman, Natalie Wood, Marlene
Dietrich, Rita Hayworth, Ernest Borgnine, Charlton Heston.
· Other notables ranging from D.W. Griffith to Princess Grace to Gloria
Vanderbilt.
A treasure trove for unique footage of some of the greats. Don’t
