The British Pathe Newsreel Collection chronicles almost 75 years of world history on film. British Pathe was one of the first film companies in the world to launch a newsreel, and one of the last to stop production in 1970, long after television news began replacing the newsreel. Pathe was particularly inventive in adding colorful magazine films and short documentaries to the collection, providing images of 20th century lifestyles, personalities, fads and trends, fashion, culture, travel and science.

WPA has transferred this entire collection of historic news footage from the film originals to D2, making it readily available to our clients in NTSC territories.
