| Description: | A gas main explodes and burns sending a torch of flame 200 feet in the air in one of New York City's most spectacular fires in its history. 600 firemen fight the flames which destroy nine homes and damage eight others. Several hundred persons were evacuated with no deaths or serious injuries reported. Establishing shot - This is an evening shot so the trees, telephone post and firemen fighting the blaze are in silhouette. CU - Telephone wires off to the right and the rest of the frame is fire sending flames into the air. Camera pans down - The silhouette of a truck that is completely surrounded by the fire. Medium Long Shot - Silhouettes of trees and firemen battling the fire. Back Shot - Two firemen fighting the fire with a hose 'silhouette'. Medium Long Shot - Fire trucks and cars burning 'silhouette'. CU - Building, fire and black smoke billowing out of the windows.
