| Description: | A CHAIR NOVELTY Novel folding chair is demonstrated - a hoop for holding a walking cane and a place for hat & briefcase. This is just a folding chair, albeit a bit different in design than most. People sitting at small tables at a garden luncheon party having tea. A gentleman arrives late and there is no chair. A servant or waiter brings out a folding chair, unfolds it and sets it up. One unique feature is that it has a ring to hold the man's cane or walking stick, a bar to fold his coat over on the back, and a sort of shelf for his hat underneath; his briefcase fits on the ground under the hat shelf. After a bit the guy is ready to leave - talk about eating and running! He stands up, shakes hands with his companions. The servant returns and hands the man his coat and his stick and his hat and his briefcase. Then the servant or waiter folds the chair up again and carries it away. A good source of fashion of this era. | |
