| Description: | A FLASH FROM "THE GOLD DIGGERS" - THE LYRIC COMEDY 1927 show starring wild girl Tallulah Bankhead. Extracts from the play "The Gold Diggers" which starred Tallulah Bankhead. London "According to Broadway, all the gold digging isn't confined to Klondike - lots of "diggers" are in the chorus ranks - !" Two men and two women walk onto the stage through a curtained entrance. One of the women is Tallulah Bankhead. The men help the girls into their glamorous fur trimmed capes. Another scene featuring Tallulah - she walks onstage arm in arm with a woman in a funny woollen hat. "Miss 1927 - possibly - !" C/U of woman in drag - she wears a man's suit. She smokes a cigar and drinks a glass of wine or beer. She smiles at the camera. She looks familiar but is not named. "But the super gold-digger is Jerry Lamar (Tallulah Bankhead) who's a real high-kicker." L/S of Tallulah doing some amazing high kicking. She kicks a top hat out of a man's hand, she then rushes to embrace another man. "And that's nothing to the other energetic steps she takes - " Tallulah does some crazy dancing. Cross between a Charleston and gymnastics. She bends over backwards and lowers herself into a crab. She then drops down onto the stage and shimmies around on her backside. She wears a fringed frock which shimmies as she Charlestons. She ends her routine by doing a cartwheel then landing in the lap of an elderly man. M/S of Tallulah rolling off his lap onto the floor.
