Our man walking up to counter in Australia House to enquire about emigrating. SCU. He walks up to the counter and the girl behind the counter says: "Good morning, can I help you at all." Man replies: "I'm a motor mechanic, if I go to Australia, can I be sure of work?" CU. Girl replies: "I'm sure you can't fail, there is plenty of work in Australia for a skilled man." SV. Man outside building looking at Canadian emigration poster. TV. Queue of people waiting to go into the Canadian emigration offices. CU. Girl in the queue reading leaflet. CU. Leaflet "Settling in Canada." GV. People waiting inside the Canadian emigration offices to be interviewed. SV. People at the counter being interviewed by Clarks. SV. Our man comes to the counter and has details pointed out to him on his form by the clerk. CU. Details being pointed out on the form. SV. Our man walks away and sits down at the desk of the Canadian Emigration Officer. SCU. Man says: "How about income tax?" The Officer replies: "The Canadian rate of taxation is about a half to a third of what you pay in this country." CU. Our man asking: "On my present wage of 15 pounds a week with two children, how much would I pay?" CU. Officer replying: "In that tax bracket, you would pay absolutely nothing at all." Man asks: "What about the general standard of living?" The Officer replies: "You will find that very much higher than in the United Kingdom." SV. The Australian High Commissioner seated at his desk. He removes his glasses and begins to speak: "You see, Australia offers wonderful opportunities to both men and women who wish to seek a wider field for their talents. It is indeed, a land of distant horizons, with a vigorous and healthy people, it is indeed a land of sunshine and opportunity." SV. Mechanic laying under car in garage. Man walks into picture and says: "Nobby, I have made up my mind that I am going to Australia." Other man replies: "I hope you're doing the right thing. I'm staying here, go abroad at my time of life, I'd feel like a foreigner." TV. Overlooking the City of London. GV. Rushhour crowds walking over bridge on their way home from work. GV.
