| Description: | This story captures the response of local residents who are opposed to having a public housing complex in their neighborhood. First shot is of a reporter, with microphone in hand, standing in a wooded area. There are no man-made structures in the shot, only nature. He is speaking of a public housing proposal that will never make it to city council. The Housing Authority had pulled the plan before it even came up for the vote. Interior shots as reporter interviews local residents. First person interviewed is a middle-aged woman all decked out in a bright pink dress. Her hair is pinned up, she is wearing terrific 1960's style glasses and white dangling earrings. She is asked how she feels about the decision. She timidly responds with "Oh, I guess I'm happy about it right now". Reporter wants a little more substance and moves on to a man who is holding a little boy. The little boy is dressed in overalls and a red turtle neck. This man states that he is happy about the decision and if it comes up again, he will fight it in the same way. Now on to an elderly lady with great dark-rimmed glasses, clip-on earrings and a pearl necklace. She states that a public housing complex would be "degrading to our neighborhood". Next shot is of a man with glasses who stands in front of a map. Shot of reporter back in wooded area giving his final commentary. | |
