| Description: | And now meet Alec McGill and Gwen Vaughan - the well-known Wireless Chatterers. London M/S of Alec McGill sitting at the grand piano and Gwen Vaughan standing beside it. They do a bit of patter, where Alec calls Gwen's fashionable tiered evening gown 'a remnant', then insists he knows what a 'gusset' is - "The inside of a duck!". Gwen starts to sing 'Nobody Ever Seems To Want Me' (?) in a soprano voice; Alec keeps making asides during her song, then interrupts her completely to ask her a riddle - "Why do old maids always wear cotton gloves?" Gwen says she doesn't know and Alec tells her "Because they don't have any kids!". Gwen carries on with the song, and they get to the end, with Alec singing a line or two and doing some silly arm flapping. | |
