Description:AND NOW MEET SAMMY AND SAUSAGE - THE KARTOON KIDLETS IN "CALL ME SPEEDY" Animation featuring the characters Sammy and Sausage - this week they apply to be film actors. Joe Noble animation featuring the characters Sammy and Sausage.

C/U of the cartoonists hand. Through stop frame animation we see a drawing take shape. A squiggly line straightens itself then the ink disappears back into the pen. Joe draws a small dog - Sausage. He barks and runs around. A blob of ink is placed on the paper. Sausage splashes in the puddle and the ink turns into a black character who says "You Tink Dat's Funny?" when some of the ink hits him in the face. Sausage laughs and says: "Sure! You should go on the movies." The man picks Sausage up and cuddles him affectionately, kissing him and jiggling him around. C/U of a sign: "Film Actors Wanted - Apply Pathe - Two Knocks." The man leads Sausage along by the hand. They walk into a room and the man turns on the light. Sausage appears from inside the man's shirt. They notice a sign propped up against a camera which reads: "Gone to Tea." They look around. Another camera has a sign that reads: "Back in 20 mins." The man suggests: "Lets Film Test Ourselves." Sausage climbs up on one of the cameras and starts turning the handle. The man comes into the room doing an impersonation of Charlie Chaplin. Sammy turns the handle and the man walks backwards and forwards and does a somersault. The man carries a reel of film towards the "Private Theatre." He says: "When dey see dis film, we'll be famous." Sausage does a few somersaults then sits on a stool. A cameraman's head appears and he says: "Have you been using my slow motion camera?" Sausage looks worried and the world "Piecan" appears above his head. (No idea what this means!) Inside the viewing theatre others are watching the film as well as Sausage and his friend. A title comes up on the screen "Sambo the Nippy Comedian." C/U of our friend. Intertitle: "Walk right up and call me Speedy!" We see the Chaplin walk in slow motion. Someone in the audience exclaims: "Call me Speedy!" and they all laugh. Speedy looks cross with Sausage. Someone yells "Nippy! and they all laugh. The two of them are kicked out of the Viewing Theatre. Sausage is then chased by his former friend who is wielding a cutthroat razor.
