This may be William T Carnes with his Carnes Arm. M/S of a man wearing an artificial arm, he uses his other hand to work a lever which bends and releases the fingers. He picks up a lathe and starts planing some wood with it. A man demonstrates how easy they are to fit by slipping the harness off and then putting it back on again, he bends the arm to show the mobility of it. Another man takes his hand off and fits a hammer which he uses to drive a nail into a piece of wood. Another man take his hand off and fits a drill which he uses. We also see a man smoking a cigarette and picking up a glass and drinking out of it. These demonstrations show the versatility of artificial arms. | |
