King steps ashore. The King is received by the French Foreign Minister, Louis Barthou. The King, Minister and many dignitaries walk through the crowds to their car. Close up shot of the King and Mr Barthou in open car, chatting and smiling. The king waves. The car passes right to left infront of the camera. Shot of police and crowd reacting to gunshots that reportedly hit and killed the driver instantly, and hit the king and Barthou. Police, ducking, run toward the crowd. Close shot of the king, lying back in his seat, eyes open, moments after having been shot. Barthou seems to have gotten out or been removed, though he too has been mortally wounded. The king appears to have his hand where the bullet hit him the chest. Blood is visible. In the next shot, his eyes are closed and there appears to be blood coming from his mouth. Shot of the confusion around the killer, who was struck down by French Colonel Piolet's sword the beaten by the surrounding crowd. Shot of police moving away, presumably with the assassin, blows still being reigned upon him. He was dead by the time the police managed to get him clear.
