| Description: | AT THE CIRCUS Various circus acts at Crystal Palace - performing horses, stunt riders and clowns. Shots of 3 chariots, each pulled by 3 horses, racing around track which goes around the ring. Shot from above ring: clown boxing w/ pony. Shot looking down at a bunch of guys dismounting. They are dressed in traditional attire for fox hunt. Wide shot of ring w/ these men sitting at a long table. A horse & rider come along and jump over the table. Another view of this trick, w/ the horse approaching camera; the hunters cheer as the horse jumps their table. Next shot of foxhounds & horses walking around the track. Donkey running over a ramp & toward camera, followed by hounds running over the ramp and horses jumping over a low fence with some branches attached to represent a hedge. Miniature horse or very tiny pony pulling a fat old lady in a pony cart. Riding stunt: rider stands on 2 horses, holding 4 more horses running in front. This six-horse team running around the track. Side view of horses standing still. LS of the rider standing on the 2 horses; rider is dressed in Cossack costume but looks like the rider is a girl! MLS the rider sits on edge of ring, w/ her horses standing behind her; she leans backward & feeds sugar cubes (?) to the horses. Next, wide shot of ring w/ several clowns gathered around a tower made of chairs stacked on top of a board held by another clown who is lying on the ground. Closer shot as pinhead clown starts to climb the tower. He gets to the top, does a handstand. Back to wider shot as the tower falls over. Ha ha! | |
