| Description: | On the spot films show hurricane Audrey’s devastating onslaught. The combination of hurricane winds and twenty-foot tidal waves took a toll that may reach four hundred lives, with thousands homeless. The season’s first hurricane lashes the coast of South-West Louisiana. Hurricane Audrey spawned in the Gulf of New Mexico sweeps in at Cambrian Parish with tremendous winds and rain. An estimated 350 people lost their life’s swep by the back lash of the Gulf of Mexico by title waves. Camerian was hardest hit, wit millions of dollars of property damage. But it also cut a path of destruction also inland and on into Canada. Establishing shot - On the beach by the Gulf of Mexico the wind is blowing bending trees almost to the point of breaking. MS - Boats tied up at the pier are bouncing all over the place. CUS - The wind is blowing so hard that this one tree is pinned to the ground by its force. MS - Flooded streets a 1956 Mercury is driving through the water. MCUS - A telephone pole is blown over. MCUS - A motel completely destroyed all you see is some wood standing. MCUS - Debris is blowing down the street, a small garbage can. MS - A family of four and a dog standing on their front porch. MCUS - Man and a woman walking down the street, he’s trying to get out of a parking lot by climbing over a guard rail and is holding on to her hand. MS - A window is blown out and the blinds are flapping all over, a smashed out rear window of a car and a man is checking it out. Aerial shot - Debris all over the place, destroyed houses, flooded streets and a water tower blown over landing on a car and partially damaging the other car that’s parked next to it. MS - A boat that’s been blown over on so property. MCUS - A destroyed bridge. CUS - A cow trapped in mud that half way up his side. MCUS - Two dead animals. MS - A man looking at his dead horse lying in a flooded pasture. CUS - More destruction, military loading supplies on a flat bed truck. Aerial shot - Flooded streets and badly damaged houses. MCUS - Lake Charles High School and people who took refuge there, volunteer handing out clothing. CUS - Children sitting on the floor playing, a little baby getting dressed, a little older baby sucking his bottle and looking at his hand. | |
