| Description: | A two mile Avenue of Sphinxes connecting the ancient Egyptian temples of Karnak and Luxor is being unearthed in one of the greatest mass excavations of recent years. Seven hundred sphinxes --- spaced 15 feet apart are expected to be surfaced when the centuries of dust and debris have been removed. There are 700 hundred Sphinxes spaced 15 feet apart are believed to line the avenue. Each Pharaoh had his name inscribed on the bottom of the Sphinx he built.
