| Description: | Master 2 - Tape 1 B/W earthquake (re-creation) footage: model buildings collapsing in slow motion. Nothing is shaking, eveything is just falling apart: first, a five-story building and then the building next to it. Quick CUs at the end of rela buildings really falling apart. Looks like 1910s or 1920s. CU old seismograph - lines are very straight and then it changes suddenly - pen goes off the chart. More buildings collapsing. This really does not look very real but it is - you can see people running in the street and at the end of the shot you can see two guys running out of the building next to the one that is collapsing. Fast CUs of debris crashing to the ground as buildings collapse. People running from debris. Weird, quick CU of a wide-eyed woman facing camera acting panicked/in fear (this is performed for the camera). Then some very real shots of aftermath - cars (1920s) caught in crevaces, rubble and debris. Debris in street. Shot of aftermath of train derailment -camera pans train cars in ditch. | |
