Shot from stage looking toward wings where 2 men are standing, the great heavy curtain comes falling down & unfurling right in front of them. Cut to shot from stage looking out at audience in cool old auditorium w/ much detailed design. Effect of shadow spreading over audience. Curtains do reach camera frame just as what's seen between them is totally dark, & continue closing. Good shot from wings showing people both on and off stage: onstage looks like children dancing or bowing. Behind a flat 2 men watch stage, woman (dance mistress?) gestures for more dancers about to walk onstage. Wide Shot curtain opening, in front of audience can see conductor sticking up from orchestra pit. MLS at side of stage, lighting man talking on house phone while other operates controls. Spotlight operator on high scaffold. Back to wings view: behind flats a few dancers go through some movements before dancing onto stage. Next, set change: stagehands move flats, most dancers wander off stage, dance mistress walks on & talks to a few others. Stage revolves, new set appears. While floor is still moving stagehands check props on new set. When it stops we are actually behind flats of new set. MS light operator (wearing tux!) adjusts lighting, then steps to side of stage to check.
