| Description: | BAMBOO The bamboo harvest is gathered Helston, Cornwall. A large grove of bamboo cane. Various shots as people cut down bamboo shoots and load them onto a truck. A dogs watches the cane being loaded & hops onto the cart. They are then stripped down. They are graded by hand and sawn up. Some of the cane is cut with a table top guillotine. The bamboo is washed to make it smooth. The outer layer of skin is then easily pulleed off. It is gathered into bundles. The bundles are loaded onto a horse drawn cart which drives away. A nice thing about bamboo is it is a renewable source of wood. It does not die when you cut it down, but grows back. | |
