| Description: | BEAUTIES ON THE BEACH Bathing beauties frolic at Palm Beach on the Thames River. The women are actresses and chorus girls - Jean Rai & the Athos Beauties from New Princes Theatre. Lovely glamour posing by the Thames by chorus girls and entertainers. Group of young women in bathing suits come running across a terrace w/ umbrella tables and down white rounded steps. Side view by edge of river w/ palms on the bank; the women come from right, running into the water. Others stop at the edge. Women splashing in the water. Other women sitting on the embankment while one of their wading friends kicks water at them. Shot from farther back on bank looking toward river: group of young women in summer dresses, and one young man, sit on the bank under palm trees; in BG the bathing beauties and a few young men waving from a rather long boat which is slowly moving past. Boat stopped, one man braking w/ the pole; some of the girls sitting or standing in the boat while others are swimming around beside it. MLS 2 young women in bathing suits and wraps, the Dodge twins, on riverbank, w/ a dog on a leash. MS one of the twins smiling over her shoulder at camera; she wears a silky wrap w/ a design of bunches of grapes on a dark background, and a wine bottle in the middle. MS Jean Rai opens her bathing cloak to reveal a white swimsuit, actually a sort of tunic over short shorts, w/a sash tied low; has a wine bottle design. She turns round to show the back of the cloak This one also has the grapes and wine theme but this one has a white background and has fewer grape bunches than Miss Dodge's. LS girls sit in a row on the side of the boat, kicking their feet in the water. | |
