He does not wear any protective gear. She asks him about this & he says "A good bee keeper always has a veil, but he doesn't always wear it." He pulls a veil out of his pocket. He shows her how to get the honey out. He squirts some smoke into the hive to calm the bees. He lifts the lid off the hive. He takes the entire thing apart & pulls out the comb. M/S as bees swarm around his face. Some squash is shown growing over an air raid shelter. The bees will pollinate the squash blossoms. This is done in as a Victory Garden effort to help with food shortages. | |
