Description:ON PREVIEW CASSETTE 98013 A & B

1) Melody Hill Kosher Wine (B&W, sound)-- Good CU's of four civilized adults sitting at a dinner table, sipping wine. Great MS of older man smiling into the camera, toasting the glass; any closer and he woulda broke the lens.

2) Busch Beer Ads (B&W, sound)-- Several short spots featuring a man wearing a black suit and tie hocking the "frisky flavor" of Busch Beer. Some pitches occur in a kitchen, others in a darkened studio set. Not much of a budget.

3) Coco Wheats (B&W, sound)-- Creepy animation of a cartoon character named Mr. Magic, a fellow who seems to enjoy more macabre magic tricks like spinning his head til the neck looks like a pretzel. Yet he also enjoys serving a hot and hearty breakfast of Coco Wheats, much to the delight of a cartoon boy. Product shot of a cup of hot cocoa, a slice of chocolate cake and chocolate pie as Coco Wheat boxes appear behind them (meant to show what the hot cereal tastes like). Also can be found on BHC 102.

4) Melody Hill Wines (B&W, sound)-- animation of a grape singing to a smling sun, followed by a cartoon man happily sipping a glass of wine. Product shots of the entire line.

5) Magnus Organs (B&W, sound)--- This is a great, dated spot. Opens with CU of a record player spinning a classical record until a hand pulls the stylus off. Zoom out to MS of a man in suit and tie talking to the camera in a darkened TV studio. "Don't you wish you could make real music, too? Well, now you can!" In BG a spotlight. highlighting a housewife playing an Easy Touch Magnus Organ. No notes, no learning, no problem! Play your favorite hymns and classics the easy way, no musicianship required! MS's and CU's of the easy to learn organ in operation. This can also be found on BHC 103.

6) Kowalski Sausage (B&W, sound)-- Animation of two bickering, weiner-shaped politicians and a squwaking parrot, all hocking meat product. Can also be found on BHC 74 (Master 110).

7) Community Motors Pontiac Dealer (B&W, sound)--- A) good shots of early 1960's model Pontiacs on city streets and in the showroom. Objective and subjective MS's of a woman driving along Lake Shore. B) MS's of early 1960's model Pontiacs driving through South Side, North West Side and downtown areas of Chicago, subjective and objective shots. Product shots and storefront shots. MS of a black man wearing white coveralls, washing the store window.

8) Schlitz Beer (color, sound) 1970's. Still illustrations of a manly man-- a worldly adventurer-- milling through the shops and ports of Hong Kong. He stops in a bar for a beer. Place happens to have that lil' slice of home known around the world as Schlitz Beer. Ends with product shot and improbable tag line, "When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer."

9) Frito Lay Potato Chips (color, sound) 1970's. Still illustrations of a princess and a frog sitting on lilypads and eating potato chips.

10) Manwich (color, sound) 1970's. Still illustrations of a father and his two boys returning home from a fishing trip. They're damn hungry so the wife cooks up a hearty meal of, what else, Manwich. But what about the fish?

11) Gerber Playbox Cookies (color, sound) 1970's. Still illustrations of the product, kids eating it.

12) Chesty Potato Chips (B&W. sound)--- a) MS's of a grocer stocking the Chesty aisle in a supermarket. MS of a Mom and her pushy, needy child shopping with cart. Good MS of scads of kids walking by Chesty snack aisle, grabbing what they want and walking off. Product shots. b) CU's of man pulling potatos from ground; he cuts one open with a pocket knife. Cut to MS of the man, his wife and two children standing in a potato field. Ad then turns into a "how potato chips are made" type of spot. The crew visit the Chesty factory. Good assembly line shots, the potato chips being processed from raw stock to finished chip to the grocer aisle nearest you.

13) Plastone Turtle Wax (color, sound)-- Another interesting oddity, meant for the limited eyes and ears of Turtle Wax employees. Opens with MS of two scantily clad pieces of cheesecake standing on a TV set made out to be either a Late Night talk show or retro-Vaudevillian stage. The gals silently draw show cards off an easel as a narrator announces the arrival of "Mr. Turtle Wax himself", the president of the company. Out he comes through curtains in BG, the girls taking an arm and walking him to a podium where they stop and kiss his cheek. The End. Odd, very odd. Pointless, too.

14) Ambassador (color, silent)

15) Red Ball Moving and Storage Company (color, silent) Familiar terrain, obvious shots. Movers moving, loading and loading trucks, putting materials into storage.

16) Chesty Potato Chips (B&W, sound)

17) Roman Meal Bread (B&W, sound)

18) Patricia Stevens Cosmetics: PS Precious Oil Moisturizer (B&W, sound)-- a) Behind the scenes of a PS television commercial as the director talks to the camera about the great quality of PS models (screen right) and the product line. He calls out for his PS glamorous wife. Cut to MS of woman all dolled up in the kitchen of her home as she talks (awkwardly) more about the products. Cut to CU of blond model applying moisturizer to cheek. Product shots. Out. b) Same format but a still photographer shoot, his model, his wife. c) Same format but an oil painter, his model, his wife.

19) Wisco Gasoline (B&W, sound)-- a) Billy Brewton, CF for the Milwaukee Braves, playing baseball (footage of him stealing bases, running, batting, and so on). Cut to tight LS of Billy driving a nice car into a Wisco full service gas station on a nice sunny day. MS of Billy standing by car and hocking gas into camera. CU's and MS's of three service attendants in white uniforms, filling the gas tank, checking the oil, washing the windows, and so on. b) Same format but with Andy Kofko, OF for the Milwaukee Braves. c) Same format but with Warren Spann, P for the Milwaukee Braves d) Same format but with Del Crandall, C and P for the Milwaukee Braves

20) Hygrades All Beef Franks (color, sound)-- a) a wacky professor with a fluctuating, high-brow voice standing at podium, talking to the camera about the dogs. Yells, "Hot Dog!" Product shot. b) a stodgy professor steps from behind a tall Tiki statue. Yells, "Hot Dog!" Product shot. c) a nice old granny sits knitting in a rocking chair. Stands, yells, "Hot Dog!", clicks heels. d) wacky professor in front of chalkboard yells, "Hot Dog!", breaks pointer during temporary insanity. These can be found on BHC 74 (Master 110).
