| Description: | Boring Artesian Wells Various shots of machinery in a countryside field boring a well. Water (?) comes spurting up from the ground. A road is seen to the left of the well. Closer shots showing men in sou'westers and oilskins operating the rather primitive machinery, and getting soaked in the process. M/S of sign on frame of well reading 'C Isler & Co. Ltd. Artesian Well Engineers, Water Supply and Plumbing Contractors, Southwark.' Two of the men try to fix the upper and lower pipes of the structure together, with some difficulty as the water is still coming out thick and fast. Comical shot of them both walking round and round, trying to fix the parts together, while some kind of steam-power generator stands beside the well. Looks like hard work. | |
