L/S racing cars lined up for the start of the Rheims Grand Prix, the starter drops his flag, runs clear and the cars begin to pull away but something happens in the middle of the pack involving Hill, Trintignant, Halford and Bianchi. The cars begin to pile up in a cloud of smoke and shoot off the track at all angles, one car seems to come from the middle of the pack and goes at full speed straight into the pits. M/S of the cars as the majority of them pull away. L/S as pit men rush around in state of confusion. High angle shot of cars coming under camera and away. L/S crowd. Various shots of the race. Camera pans with Jack Brabham No.16 in his Cooper going round a bend. M/S Bruce Mclaren on the inside and Innes Ireland in Lotus neck and neck round bend. Various shots of the race. M/S girl in crowd. M/S as one of the cars leaves the track after a skid and has to go round behind some advertising hoardings to get back onto the track. Pan with Brabham going down fast straight.
