Description:This raw footage of SON SEALS and the Son Seals Blues Band and the Nighthawks is mainly close ups and tight shots of the band. There are a lot of good shots of the musicians singing and playing their instruments - keyboards, electic bass, drum set, electric guitar, harmonica - particularly of hands plucking and fretting guitar solos and hitting piano keys. There are also a lot of good close ups of the expressive faces of the musicians as they sing and solo.

(04:05:24-04:09:41) Opens to close up shot of SON SEALS who solos for the audience, Seals sings a song about losing his baby, front part of audience dances and claps along enthusiastically, the second guitarist takes a solo - Festival host NAT TURNER playfully fans the heat off this second guitar solo
(04:10:08) Turner, in a slick white suit and hat, works the crowd for applause
(04:38:22) ****Jump in time code, Long shot of the stage as the Nighthawks come on, Turner works the crowd - explains the geographical progression of the music by the band's home cities
(04:40:07-04:44:33) Nighthawks, a blue brothers-esque band consisting of a keyboardist, harmonica, bass, guitar and drum set, burst into their first song with a passionate harmonica solo, the harmonica player also sings - the chorus of the song "this country living sure has got me blue, I'm going back to the city where they know what to do", ripping guitar solo, short bass solo, a woman in the front of the audience wearing a cowboy hat enthusiatically moves her hips in time to the music
(04:44:40 - 04:51:00) Nighthawks move right away into their second song, harmonica player sings again - shot behind his back with a huge audience in front of him, this song is a slower tune - it is a MUDDY WATERS tune whose lyrics ask why do men do the things they do, flaming guitar solo, harmonica solo
(04:51:01 - 04:56:36) Nighthawks jump right into the next song the beginning of which sounds like "You gotta to give me some lovin'" but isn't, the guitarist sings this song the chorus of which is something about "two hearts to have and hold", harmonica solo, Guitarist has a deep gritty voice which he uses to work the crowd at the finale of this song
(04:56:40 - 05:01:23) Nighthawks move on to another song, a slightly faster blues song, agains the guitarist sings - this time the lyrics are about some woman, harmonica solo, flaming guitar solo
(05:01:25 - 05:05:56) Nighthawks play another song this one more of a dixieland/New Orleans type groove, again the guitarist sings this time the chorus is "She's too tall to mambo, but I love my baby just the same", harmonica solo, song breaks down into just a drum beat and other percussive sounds as the chorus is chanted by the band and audience
(05:06:04 - 05:08:55) Nighthawks play another song, this one is a rockabilly number, the harmonica player sings - the chorus of the song is "put your cat clothes on, tonight were going to really rock it right", guitar solo, harmonica player pretends with his mic stand that he is playing an up-right bass
(05:08:57 - 05:11:58) Nighthawks play a song by the Mills Brothers, harmonica player sings this song, the chorus of which is "splash dab in the middle"
(05:12:00 - 05:17:58) Nighthawks play the title cut on their new album "House Fire (?)" - the 80s meets the blues, the band encourages the audience to dance, guitar and harmonica solos
(05:18:00 - 05:20:06) Nighthawks play "Last Course in Love"
(05:20:15 - 05:25:38) Nighthawks feature their keyboardist on a boogie-woogie song the chorus to which is I'm a "boogie-woogie man from Tennessee", keyboardist plays part of his solo with a red-cowboy-booted foot and then in the song's climax sits on the keyboard
(05:26:05) Harmonica player introduces the next song - another MUDDY WATERS tune the chorus to which is "she's only 19 years old and she's got weight like a baby child", the guitarist sings, harmonica solo, slide guitar solo, song cut off by end of tape
