| Description: | BRICKS BY THE MILLION - FILMED AT FLETTON Fletton, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire WS large clay-digging operation. Big machine next to a cliff of clay which it has cut; workers both on ledge above and below at bottom; railroad track leads away from machine to rt. CU part of a Shale Planer machine - a tall narrow thing with 2 long parallel sides (like a ladder) slowly moves along side of cliff, while a chain of blades moves vertically between the sides, scraping down the cliff. LS tilt down: main part of machine where the clay scraped off is collected. LS little trolley carts move by themselves along railroad tracks criss-crossing and heading past building at left or into the distance where there is building w/ big smoke stacks. LS tracks going up slope into brick building; another cart piled with clay zooms past in FG. MLS worker in building dumps clay out of cart. MLS boy c. age 12-14 takes bricks of clay out of pressing machine. MS same; the boy working quickly to unload bricks as they come out. Electric trolley takes stacks of bricks on pallets - and a worker riding too - along tracks past long building with rows of arched openings - the kilns. LS 2 workers run pushing a cart of bricks along track coming out of a doorway; as it gets going one guy hops on. MLS 3 workers load the entire cart into arched entrance of kiln. MLS worker stacking bricks inside kiln. MLS closed door of kiln. Worker pushing wheelbarrow of bricks out of kiln. LS workers bringing more loads of bricks and stacking them out in yard.
