| Description: | BRIDGE CONTRASTS - IN COPENHAGEN Two very interesting old bridges. Bridges in Copenhagen are shown including a bridge which splits and opens and a swing bridge. Copenhagen, Denmark View from boat going along river or canal in Copenhagen, Denmark; old 5-6 story buildings crowded side by side along the street; barrels stacked at edge of dock. View from boat looking back as we go under small bridge. Another view on river, looking at the buildings we are passing, incl. "Hotel Kronprinsen"'also in this shot there are dockworkers beside canal. LS old double drawbridge which opens in the middle; this bridge has a square tower on either side, w/ spiral stairs leading up to what looks like a little house on top. Shot of bridge opening in the middle, raising; fade to same w/ bridge raised and ship passing through. Fade to bridge lowering again after ship has passed; as it lowers a bunch of pedestrians start across from either side. Old swing bridge starts to turn counterclockwise - Diag view from bank, near one end of bridge; its steel sides curve upward gracefully to support at their apex a rather ornate square building w/ towers at corners, straddling the center of bridge - it looks as if it may have just landed there. Cool! As bridge swings around parallel to the bank, ship fades into view coming through; as it passes the bridge continues turning in same direction. Fade to bridge swinging closed again, and pedestrians crossing. (In other words the bridge has just made a 180 degree turn and is now facing opposite direction.) Shot from one end of bridge: freight train coming over bridge, automobiles, bicycles driving on other side. Fade to shot w/ end of train; it is followed by an electric tram; also, pedestrians walk along their own walkway on the side.
