Slow pan on street w/ pedestrians crossing in FG; in BG; sawhorses block off area with some half-demolished buildings; several small shacks on construction site with smoke coming from chimneys. In semi-cleared area w/ piles of building materials etc., 2 workers lifting a long metal rod; there is some scaffolding at left and more around building in BG. Shot of a few more workers passing camera; one stops and smiles. Wide shot construction of big building; workers on top level. Hi ang shot demolition workers on top of a partly demolished bldg; in BG on wall of adjacent bldg is a huge painting of a chubby smiling baby's face (an advertisement for Bébé Cadum).
