| Description: | What does C&W Binder produce? I don't know either based upon what this silent and seemingly unfinished industrial film presents. The first 50' to 75' is in B&W (silent); it is aerial shots of C&W Binder factories and corporate plants, specific location unknown. The film then switches to color (still silent). The following are a few shots therein: tight LS of a factory, a 175 model tractor shovel in the FG..... tight LS's of various factory areas (industrial still-lifes)..... MS of a beefy older man in a grungy white t-shirt walking on-screen to fiddle with gauges and gadgets (int. of factory)..... CU of a quivering pressure gauge..... CU's of factory machinery, MS's of employees fixing and operating factory equipment.... several MS's of rusty, twisted metal jungle workplace.... tight LS of man walking on top of a gas rig on a sunny day, plays with something, gets off; tight LS of gas rig driver getting into cab and driving off-frame.... LS's of refinery spewing dust and smoke into a bright blue sky (excellent shot).... MS of tar being laid on a country road (executed by a large truck spraying the coating base, then another truck and several men doing their respective thing).... tight LS of road paving (on frame left) as late 1950's model cars and buses pass by on frame right (fantastic shot)...... CU's of fresh tar and cement being poured, mixed or rolled (bizarre yet fascinating shots); MS of a steamroller then MS of other pavers then a MS of men raking the fresh cement. | |
