| Description: | CAMERA INTERVIEWS - CLAPHAM & DWYER THE FAMOUS RADIO STARS Comedy golf routine by Clapham and Dwyer - slapstick stuff. Clapham and Dwyer - the famous radio stars - take the air and have a spot of golf. One of the pair carries a large shopping bag with his golf clubs inside. He wears a cricket shin pad on his leg. United Kingdom "Clapham wasn't quite sure whether he was invited to tennis, cricket, mining, engineering - or just golf - (and Cissie wasn't there to tell him!)" Clapham takes various items out of his bag - a telescope, a melon (?) a big caveman club and eventually a golf club. He fools around. Eventually he takes a shot and swings right around without hitting the ball. Silly stuff ensues. Eventually he kicks the golf ball. The two comedians walk along, Clapham falls over in a pile of leaves. His friend helps him up. "This is all through you letting Cissie stay in bed in the morning." reads an intertitle. Clapham uses a tape measure to work out the distance between his ball and the hole. He takes a shot. Through a camera trick - stop frame animation presumably - the ball goes round and round in circles. His companion looks surprised. Clapham does some gurning. Dwyer pots a ball. Dwyer uses the hole flag pole like a snooker cue and attempts to pot the golf ball. The two hold pint glasses of beer and chink them, toasting each other. They drink their pints. | |
