Chairman Sam Rayburn says, "The motion has carried and Governor Stevenson is the nominee of this convention by acclamation." Cheers, etc. Truman & Stevenson. President Harry S. Truman points to Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson and convention floor stands in ovation. Signs, "Sparkman for Veep." Alabama's Senator John Sparkman joins Stevenson on the rostrum. In Colorado, Republican candidate Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower relaxes before the strenuous campaign ahead, and passes on to his running-mate, Senator Nixon, some fly-catching lore, and some political wisdom, too. Ike wearing hat, puts on fishing boots. Eisenhower holds fishing pole while speaking to Nixon, during which Ike flings pole back and startles Richard Nixon.
