A very chic looking woman with nice black suit and perfectly curled hair demonstrates the following tips: When you first get flowers home place them in water up to their necks and leave them for a couple of hours. Look at stems to check if they have been cut cleanly. Cut rose stems again with a sharp knife and pick off lower leaves - we see rose stems being prepared in C/U. Woman arranges roses in a cut glass vase. She adds more water - it should always come as far up the stems as possible. Chrysanthemums should have their stems crushed - C/U of this. Tips are given as to how to arrange them so that they can breathe. There should be no leaves below the waterline. The woman sprinkles water over the flowers.
