| Description: | Can you believe your Ears? Microphones, excellent though they are, have queer ideas on certain sounds, which don't always register as you'd imagine. Try your hand (and ears) on these. Several intertitles ask us to guess the sound being played over them. The only clues we have are that each is an everyday event in millions of homes. We first hear a noise like running water; visuals cut in to show C/U of bacon cooking in a frying pan. We next hear something like eggs being whisked - visuals cut in to show exactly that. The next noise is something like the sound of toast being buttered; visuals cut in to show C/U of butter being spread on toast. Then we hear a low, whirring sound; visuals show a kettle boiling on the hob. A scraping sound turns out to be a woman brushing her hair. A flat kind of pinging noise is revealed to be a woman putting her garters on over her stockings - saucy! | |
