(01:07:19) Back in studio Carter segues to an examination of new wave Republican NEWT GINGRICH - in his office Representative BILL ALEXANDER expresses mixed views about Gingrich, shot of Gingrich riding down escalator and speaking intensely to an underling about how to sway public support in favor of McIntyre in the contested election - they move from the escalator to an elevator where Gingrich holds the door for the following camera crew, in interview in his office Gingrich explains his mission in the McIntyre/McClosky contest, and his general mission to attack Democrats and Liberals at every opportunity--a good prediction of the 1994 "Republican Revolution" election results when conservatives in the Gingrich style took over both houses of Congress--shot of Gingrich and fellow Republicans walking out of House Task Force meeting upon hearing their decision regarding the election, back in interview Gingrich talks about the "corrupting force of power" , the "stolen" election in Indiana, and how the "Democratic Machine" "sickens" him and makes him want to quit politics - interview is interspersed with footage of Representative ROBERT WALKER speaking on the House floor saying "something stinks" in the House and Speaker O'Neill leading a vote on the House floor

(20:39:45) Back in studio Carter segues to segment on Indiana district where election was held, various quick shots of the district's industry - farms, limestone factory, coal factory, grazing cows, various footage of McIntyre and McCloskey each thinking they have won the election, in interviews McIntyre and McCloskey talk about the partisanship involved in deciding the election and the turmoil afterwards, KIT WAGAR of the Evansville Courier give a description of the average district voter - shots of various people on the streets of Evansville Indiana, various people in Evansville say who they think should have won and why, shots of the several vote counts that followed the election - various shots of men sitting at tables going through boxes of cardboard ballots
