| Description: | Master 1 - Tape 1 Male soldiers dance together in what is probably a victory celebration. Crowd of other men look on, all in uniform, all happy., a parade of military types walk through the street. Red Cross flags wave, as do American flags. Spectators line the streets. Excited crowd of people at train depot as soldiers arrive, hands stretched out of the windows of the train. Train rides toward the camera, off the left side of the screen. Close up shot of mob on platform. Great shot of excited, patriotic crowd as they wave little American flags. The camera pans from right to left past what looks like thousands and thousands of cheering, flag-waving people. Soldiers leave ship, walking down ramp. Backpacks on. Satchels. They walk in a group, somewhat casually, from right to left (aware of the camera). Parade of horses with American Flags, MS jeep with flag wavers also drives towards camera, spectators line the streets. 1910s cars, possibly Model A's. LS large boat packed to the seams with happy, frantic, waving soldiers. All hands are on deck and the deck is packed. Two shots: first, a medium long shot that gets most of the boat in the frame. Second, a close up with a slow pan by the soldiers, in which you can make out the happy expressions on their faces. Mob scene. Home front crowd. Mob scene. Very happy Americans wave their hats, flags, and anything they can get their hands on at the camera. Buildings and trees in background. Camera pans left to right. People are aware of the camera. Formal military parade. They walk in formation (march) with their guns on their shoulders. March from top right to bottom left of screen. Locked down camera. SUPER SHOT in which little boy in sailor suit is framed on right of screen waving a little American flag as, in front of him, the American soldiers pass. Patriotic. Incredibly happy crowd,people piled in automobiles, waving American flags, cheering, jubilant, delirious. Mob scene. People blow noise makers. Camera then starts to pan quickly the spectators as if in a car, POV past the cheering crowd. Camera stops on a man holding a large American flag. Dancing in the streets. Men and Women.
