To make room for a new housing development; two old towers are demolished at the construction site. Coinfer Park, Lower Parkstone, Poole, Dorset Various shots of two 100 foot chimneys being prepared for demolition. A man pushes gelignite charges into a hole at the base of the chimneys. Good shots of the first chimney falling to the ground after a small explosion at the base. A bulldozer clears away the rubble of bricks and cement. The second tower is demolished and collapses to the ground. GV Of chimney that is 100ft. high at Conifer Park Lower Parkstone. Pan to another chimney of the same height for demolition. Angle S. One of ythe chimneys. Pan down to the base. SV Man fix- ing gelignite charge. CU Man pushing the charge into hole. pan to hole. CU Another charge being prepared and being put into another hole. CU Pan man rams home the charge. Lv The top of chinmey No. 1. GV As the tower starts to fall. The tow- er is down. SV Of earth moving machine moving rubble. CU Bricks and rubble being lowered into lorru. GV Tower No. 2. The expolsion occurs. The tower is down. First; shots of the 100-foot chimneys; intact. Cool shot looking up at chimney; at diagonal; then pan down. Men prepare explosives. Man poking gelginite into hole at bottom of chimney; using pole. CU man's hand placing sticks of dynamite into hole in bricks. Shot of the chimney. LS same; rumbling begins; smoke billowing; chimney starts to lean to side like the Tower of Pisa; then it totally collapses. Bulldozer driving around. CU Dumping bricks in back of truck. Then GV of other chimney; explosion at bottom; and the whole thing collapses right on the spot. Very exciting demolition. | |
