LS tilt down: boats anchored side by side; people onboard cooking, etc. pan up then to left showing more and more boats. LS a few rather large sampans sailing in harbor; 2 small boats in FG, large steamship in BG. MCU family sit on deck eating meal. CU elderly man eating with chopsticks. People on small boat with arched roof over center section; man stands in front poling boat, woman sits sorting something on a big tray, toddler stands by her. MS people on other boat napping on deck after their meal. MLS man stands on street holding up fish hanging from stick; he bends to put fish into wicker basket. "Each year a day is given over to the God "Ise" who keeps the seas supplied with fish." MCU statue of angry looking god "Ise". LS procession through street with men in identical robes and hats (like pointy berets with single feather sticking up) carrying a curtained litter through arch. LS looking through gate at large temple (Possibly Guangxiao temple?) LS row of worshippers stand facing collonade of temple, they bow etc., in front of each one is a pot with something burning. LS tilt down: more of procession; groups of men carry litters containing statues representing "false gods" - they run this way and that and the movement is similar to crowd in a mosh pit! MCU old woman sits on ground beating on drum. Procession approaching on road (now bushes on sides, not city street). Ceremony at temple. LS one priest in center and lines of others on either side, all walk away from camera, toward a shrine set up in front of temple wall. In front of the shrine stand a group of near life size statues. MLS the monks walk in pairs hitting cymbals together, passing the group of statues. MLS monks taking statues and placing them on fire on the shrine. MCU elderly man white bearded in left FG, with more statues being put on the flames in BG. MCU angry god statue. Ends w/ shot that looks like shore of lake. | |
