| Description: | Christmas celebrated in real Navy style - Devonport. Sailors take turns stirring a large kettle, then eat dinner. In the Army a chef presents soldiers with a tray full of cakes. Plymouth, Devon. M/S as the sailors all take a turn at stirring something in a big barrel (Christmas pudding mix ?). M/S of sailors stood next to lifebelt of H.M.S. Hood. L/S of meat and sausages as well as other edible goodies on the deck, sailors stand guard over them. L/S of H.M.S. Hood, the camera pans down the guns to a sailor ladling rum (?) out of a big barrel into the containers the other sailors have brought along, these range from cups to buckets, however they all get the same amount! C/U of one sailor drinking his out of a bowl, he smiles and rubs his stomach. ' ... "come to the Cookhouse door" boys, is real music to Tommy Atkins' ears at Christmas time.' L/S of the soldiers lined up outside the cookhouse, the cook emerges with a big tray and they all eagerly follow him, it looks to have pies or puddings on it.
