| Description: | "MONACO - LONDON - CHURCHILL FLIES HOME". LS of Monte Carlo harbor in Monaco. Sir Winston Churchill is seen on the steps of his hotel. He tips his hat and goes inside. He apparently had an accident (fall?) on holiday and is brought back to England for an operation. Slip pan to general view of the RAF Transport Command Comet taxiing in at London Airport. Lady Clementine Churchill, Randolph Churchill and Lord Moran wait for the plane and then go aboard. An ambulance drives across the tarmac, then we see a fork-lift truck carrying Winston Churchill on a stretcher down to the ground. Churchill is carried to the ambulance by RAF attendants; he manages to give the V-sign (ahem, for victory) to the press. The ambulance drives off. General view of the Middlesex Hospital. The ambulance arrives and Churchill is carefully carried off on his stretcher. He waves to the waiting crowds as he is carried into the hospital. | |
