| Description: | CINETOPICALITIES IN BRIEF (NO. 80) An artist who personalises gas mask boxes. In London (?) we see artist Stanley Birchett painting designs on gas mask boxes. He is working on one for Adolf Hitler, showing a simple caricature of the Fuhrer beside a Nazi-saluting hand and a nose (so it looks like someone is thumbing their nose at him). The initials HF also appear. Another design with the initial AE (Anthony Eden?) shows a startled cat with bushy tail. Brief shot of men taking their coats and personalised gas mask cases from a coat stand. Birchett is then seen painting flower designs on a window covered with sticky paper (required as an air raid precaution). It looks like the window is covered with the blooms of a creeping vine. | |
