19:00:30:- Interview with Mr. Spengler, director of the city museum. Built in 1776 it was the former palace of the Cuban governor. NEEDS TRANSLATION AS IT IS IN SPANISH.

19:06:14:- tight LS's inside the palace. An ornate hallway featuring intricate rugs, ruffled drapes, numerous chandeliers and gold framed paintings. Harbor of the aristocrat. 18th century design/ decoration, from furniture to art, from floor to ceiling. Good CU's and MS's of the beautiful chandeliers.

19:08:28:- CU of an illustration of the San Juan Hill Charge as led by Teddy and his Rough Riders (purportedly). B&W drawing tinted green; CU of the American flag as held by advancing American troops. Cut to a photograph of the USS Maine on the waters just off of Cuba. Cut to CU's of portholes taken from th wreck of the Maine. Cut to CU's of photographs of the wreck of the USS Maine. Cut to a CU of an old United States seal (an eagle with the "E Pluribus" motto above it). CU of a photograph of early American colonists in to Cuba.

19:09:44:- CU's of a color oil painting of Fidel Castro. Nice colors, good execution and a smiling Fidel. Cut to CU's of old and faded United States flags. Cut back to many more shots of the Castro portrait painting. Cut to CU's of framed Cuban newspapers proclaiming the success of the 1959 Cuban Revolution. ECU's of headlines as well as graphics (illustraions of Castro and Cuban flag).

19:14:09:- MS of several old United States flags hanging from the ceiling of the museum. Cut to CU's of a portrait of an old (unnamed) statesman.

19:16:39:- Exterior of city museum, the courtyard. MS of battered old stone pillars (columns) lining the walkway of the courtyard. Cut to several tight LS's of a walkway along the courtyard (several angles, too). Cut to CU of a portriat of the last Queen to rule over Cuba, then cut to wider shots of the fancy room in which the painting hangs. Cut to CU's of globes and bulbs and other parts of gorgeous chandeliers.

19:18:13:- ECU's of exquisite scabbard hilts, all of Spanish design. Cut to MS of several swords hanging on a wall. Cut to ECU's and CU's of flint locks of several antique Spanish muskets (rifles). Cut to more ECU's of scabbard hilts. Cut to ECU of a military bugle resting on cone, tilt up length of horn.

19:20:02:- MS of a swinging lamp hanging in an alcove of the courtyard. Cut to low angle MS of a statue of Christopher Columbus in the courtyard (nice shot, the sky brilliant blue); CU of bust of statue. Cut to tight LS's of the courtayard as seen from the center. Cut to tight LS's of the museum's exterior on a busy, sunny afternoon. Good MS's of various niches surrounding the building (lamppost, street lamps, arches, archways, etc.)
