| Description: | TV Commercial for used car dealer, 1950s. Cu sign: "INTERMISSION". Sign falls away to reveal two pretty girls in sports clothes (one looks like Elinor Donahue) who are lighting a giant firecracker (one has hands over ears) when a suave (kind of creepy, slippery fellow) man interrupts: "Hi girls, what's going on here anyway?" Apparently next Tuesday is the 4th of July and they're celebrating, but the man convinces them ("Oh, Marilyn!") that people would rather take a nice drive instead. He then launches into a sales pitch for Burke Motors Used Cars. Pretty smooth, despite a few verbal flubs. He displays a 1946 Plymouth coupe, pointing out its salient features--good chrome, finish. He walks to the side of the car, still talking about its features, "good rubber all around." Film cuts off after, "Let's take a look inside." | |
