| Description: | COMRADES FROM USA American sailors and soldiers arrive in Cape Town and see the sights. Cape Town, South Africa. Various shots of American sailors just arrived in Cape Town getting their shore legs and starting to look around the town. They chat to women at some little cabins on the quay and pose for cameras before walking off into the town. Nice street scenes of sailors walking along with civilians. Panning shot of American GI soldiers who have also recently arrived (mmm! That uniform!). The soldiers look at some ancient cannons in a public garden or park. Four US sailors walk along a country road on their way to Table Mountain with a female hostess in uniform. Sailors look at the view. Cable car carrying soldiers, sailors and civilians moves off up Table Mountain. At the top, the sailors take off their hats to show their barely-there hair! (Shaved heads). Commentator makes joke about it being a "hair-raising experience". Sailors walk about the Table Mountain area. | |
