| Description: | ON PREVIEW CASSETTE 98043 This story pertains the Consumer Protection Agency and their attempt to inform consumers of shoddy construction work. The segment begins in a suburban neighborhood where an African-American man is standing on the lawn looking at a white house. Two kids walk into the picture and stand next to the man. It appears that repair work has been done to the porch and stairs of the house. Shot of man moving the stairs away from the porch. The two were not attached in any way. Brassy looking woman in a bright orange outfit walks to the edge of the porch and points out flaws to a young woman wearing a sundress. There is one plastic pink flamingo in the yard. CU of the corner of the porch as a finger points to the edge. Shot of the porch showing lawn furniture and potted plants. Interview with a woman from the Comsumer Protection Agency. She has a great 1970's look about her. Let me explain: This woman has jet black layered hair that parts directly down the center of her scalp, her eyes have been lightly powdered with a pale blue eye shadow and she is wearing a bright orange jacket with a white butterfly collar underneath. The woman talks about the importance of educating the consumer. She stresses the importance of checking out contractors before signing a contract for home improvements. When woman is done speaking she bites her bottom lip with a look of "Was that alright?" using her facial expression to question the news crew. | |
