| Description: | COSTER AND SWAFFER Photographer Howard Coster patiently listens to theatre critic Hannen Swaffer while he takes his picture. You can now criticize [sic] a critic! - A Pathetone Cameo in which Howard Coster, the well-known photographer of men, interviews Hannen Swaffer, the celebrated critic. And our Talkie-Camera lets him laugh at himself. London M/S of Hannen Swaffer and Howard Coster standing in Coster's photographic studio (?). Lights are standing around, drapes are hanging from the ceiling and an assistant stands by. Swaffer says he wants Coster to take his photograph, making him look as much like a dramatic critic as possible, without looking objectionable. Coster sits him down in an armchair and prepares to take his photo as Swaffer witters on about his life as a critic, in a rather arch manner. They eventually take the photograph on a huge old camera. Coster asks if there is another pose he would like to take up; Swaffer says "I've posed all my life, everyone knows that." Fade out. | |
