FI on Mr. Radway, associate director of CROP (a program of Church World Service, representing 35 Protestant denominations, collecting food for distribution overseas) sitting before a map of the world and a CROP poster. He addresses the camera. Dissolve to Geneva, Switzerland, gate in front of a house. Cut ot the building. Cu of the front door as two men walk in. Cut to three men, standing. Three men outdoors, conferring. Cut to Swiss sign. FO/FI on Berlin Brandenburg Gate with a little traffic. Sign reads,"Das Hilfswerk Der Evangelischen Kirchen". Cut to three men carrying large containers into a farm building. LS of a refugee camp, a few people in the FG. Cut to stacks of barrels, two men holding a poster which reads, "Gifts from CROP". F)/FI on an Italian field, camera tilts up to a row of metal buildings along a road. Cut to a group of men hoeing a field in front of the road, a mountain in BG. Cut to another view of the workers in the field. Four refugee boys play. CU of two boys sitting on the edge of their bed. Cut to a sign, "A A I Capua", then pan past barbed wire fences enclosing the camp. Cut to two metal cups in a tray as a plate of noodles is put on top. Dissolve back to Radway taling to the camera. Dissolve to a Greek man and a boy at the head of a line, receiving food. Another view of the line with a uniformed guard checking the papers of people in line; a man in the front receives loaves of bread. Cut to food in large tins being dished out to children. Barracks, as an elderly woman carries a load past laundry lines. FO/FI Radway with binoculars, handed to him by a Palestinian in the Jordan/ Syria/ Lebanon region. Refugees with pick axes break up ground in a camp. In a mountain region, a man brings up a basket of sun dried clay bricks. Children in line receive food on their plates. CU of a sign. Jericho Refugee Camp School, YMCA, mountains. CU of a primitive plow breaking ground. Camera pulls back to see the plow is being pulled by two oxen with a Palestinian farmer driving them. Two men with pick axes follow him, breaking up clods. FO/FI as Radway is standing and looking at a world map, pointing to India. Dissolve to pictures of New Dehli flood area, then pictures of native population walking, driving cattle and carrying loads. FO/FI on a Hong Kong waterfront view of crowded buildings. High angle camera looks down on a large crowd lining up for food. CU of the food being mixed, people in line with their utensils. A native fills a basket with rice for a waiting woman. A barrier holds the crowd back ("This center feeds 10,000 families.") Dissolve to construction of a housing project as workmen with yokes bring bricks to the building under construction. Cut to crowded buildings on a hillside. Pan a camp with children looking into the camera. Fields of terraced crops on a hillside; pan the terraces to a view of distant mountains. CU of children eating with chopsticks. LS of many refugees in a desolate camp. Crowd carrying pots walk past the camera, pan to LS of a city street, lined with buildings and people, one car. CU's of people as they receive food. FO/FI to CU of Radway at map, pointing to Korea. Dissolve to decrepit, crowded refugee shacktowns. Various views of this area. One shot shows a child scavenging among many bowls in piles. Another view shows the camera following a white robed man with stovepipe hat walking through the area. Shots of single and many workmen with primtive hoes breaking up the land. Radway and two others examine an artificial arm in front of an amputee center. CU of artificial hands at a bowl of rice; pull back to see the face of the man smiling, eating. A child plays in a junk pile. Another child in the street looks at the camera. Dissolve to Radway looking at the camera. He says, "I saw the need. These people look to you for help, for life itself." Cut to a poster: "Feed the Hungry Overseas", a child with outstretched arms.
