| Description: | CROWNING GLORIES Retrospective look at hairstyles through the ages. United Kingdom LS room crowded full of women in costumes and hairstyles of various periods. Many of them are brushing or styling each other's hair. MS back view of woman with waist-long frizzy blonde hair who sits looking into mirror of vanity table as another woman combs her hair. MCU woman wearing what's supposed to be an Egyptian get-up, top of gown has jeweled circles over breasts, also jeweled straps. She wears cobra crown. She turns around to show masses of long dark hair. CU woman supposedly representing Helen of Troy. She turns 360 degrees, her hair is stuffed into what looks like a cone-shaped hairnet sticking out magically in back, with silver strips wrapped around the net. CU another woman, playing Queen Mathilda of France, wears long strands of pearls wrapped criss-cross around her long blonde braids and a sort of cloth crown trimmed w/ pearls, etc. She too turns around to show off this finery. Woman in Elizabethan style, wearing poofy hair up on head with crown balancing on top. She also has a spectacular collar standing up at angles like a sail. Following this is a far more obvious nautical fashion - a woman in powdered wig with a ship on her head! CU bizarre Marie Antoinette hairdo. More powdered hair plus a big headdress on top with pearls, feathers, etc. Gibson Girl with wavy hair in updo with fancy comb; model also wears choker, strapless gown. CU "Miss 1932" turns head to side to show her intricate waves | |
