Various shots of a scene representing code in ancient Greece when a belt was brought and wrapped around the wrist several times to reveal the message. M/S as a brush is dipped in milk bottle, someone writes with it on a piece of paper then rubs ash in to make it visible. M/S of a diagram showing codes, then another of a cypher where letters are changed. M/S of Grille cypher with latticed frame which blocks out certain letters to give the message. M/S of a copy of William Shakespeare's 'Love's Labour's Lost' suggesting it was written by Francis Bacon because his name is spelt out in some of the text.
