| Description: | CYRIL FLETCHER Comedian Cyril Fletcher and his wife Betty Astell farm to help the food supply. L/S of the Fletchers' cottage. The Pathe reporter comes to the door and is greeted by Cyril's wife Betty Astell. She takes him to Cyril who is pushing a wheelbarrow. They chat and he says he is doing a bit of farming to help Britain's food supply but he is not a proper farmer. M/S of sheep in a field. He strokes a rabbit saying it is next Sunday's dinner. Betty feeds the chickens and Cyril shows us the potato patch. He pays tribute to the real farmers in Britain and we see a montage of hay, cows, wheat etc. on a working farm. Cyril then impersonates a comic yokel character called George Wurzel, Betty asks him his views on farming but he would rather talk about his fat girlfriend. | |
