| Description: | Incredible footage documenting the process of school integration in Dallas, Texas. TLS/MSs unidentified Caucasian man standing at podium, announcing names of black (African-American) children who will be integrated into the Dallas Public School system; he names schools & the number of boys and girls who will attend those all-white schools, concluding that a total of 18 black children have been selected to attend 6 or 7 different schools; he then explains why some applications were rejected, citing "defective" applications, offering preposterously bureaucratic reasons such as lack of birth certificate, proximity to another school or an applicant already having siblings in another elementary school. After a spell of leader, cut to MS of Dallas Police Chief JESSE CURRY at podium, fielding questions from audience of blacks & whites; Chief Curry says there will be reserve officers on duty, and that there will be no police dogs. After another spell of leader, cut to MS unidentified Caucasian man saying East Texans are different form West Texans in dealing with issues such as desegregation. | |
