| Description: | See also catalog # 369818 DAPHNE GROVE AND PAUL ENDERSLEY Mexican dancing. Folk Dance performers in Mexico City, 1920s. Group of women dancers in ethnic costumes, long ruffled skirts, white scarves over their heads etc., dancing in front of a big mural w/ tropical flowers and leaves. MCU legs of male & female dancers performing Mexican Hat Dance: woman dancing right on the brim of a sombrero while man dances around her. LS several performers doing couples' dance w/ fancy footwork. Hats are now on the guys' heads, and the rest of the costumes are very striking. The men all wear tight pants w/ rows of buttons down the legs, short jackets w/ embroidered(?) designs. These women also have big ruffled skirts, but w/ more intricate designs, stars birds, flowers, etc. Closer view of the female dancers seen in first shot. Wide shot from across water of a giant curving arch-like structure over the stage & fountain. Ut must be several 100 feet high. Can see by this that the stage is at the end of some land which juts out into water. | |
