M/S of a glamorous young woman, 22 year old Maureen Elsey, on the moors throwing corn out of a bucket to chickens. M/S of her feeding the chickens, the camera pans down to watch them feeding. M/S as she walks up to a bench, on top of it is a vanity case and her coat. She puts the bucket down and picks up the other items. L/S of Maureen walking across a bridge, a dog runs along in front of her. A farmhouse and some trees are in the background. The narrator says Maureen is a travelling beautician and hairdresser and her business covers 360 square miles. M/S of Maureen putting the case in the back of a van, she also puts in a portable version of the large hairdryers found in hair salons. She closes the door and gets in the van. L/S of her van driving off, the camera follows the van over the roads through Dartmoor. L/S of Maureen driving over a bridge towards the camera. C/U profile of her in the van. L/S as she drives into a farmyard, the farmer, Cuthbert Scott, waves at her. He is sawing wood. M/S as she comes to a stop and gets out. L/S as she gets out and goes round to open the van doors, Cuthbert is sawing in the foreground. L/S of his sister in law, Mrs Nellie Scott, who brings a chair into the farmyard and sits down. Maureen takes her case and hairdryer out of the van. M/S of Maureen opening her case and talking to Nellie. C/U of her taking some bottles out of the case. M/S as she walks over and starts combing Nellie's hair. C/U of Nellie's face as she has her hair combed. C/U of Maureen as she does this. M/S of Mr Scott watching while he saws. C/U of a pot in Nellie's lap, she takes out hairpins and hands them up to Maureen. M/S as Maureen puts the pins in, L/S as she walks over to get the hairdryer and put it over Nellie's hair. C/U of the sheepdog looking tired. L/S of Mr Scott bringing a chair over and sitting down, she starts combing his hair. M/S of Maureen cutting his hair, and Nellie under the dryer. C/U of Maureen cutting Mr Scott's hair, they are both smiling. L/S of the scene, the farmhouse is in the background. A man rides up on a horse and starts talking to them, the dog runs away.
